We are a group of volunteers and activists from Berry and neighbouring localities concerned about refugee and asylum seeker issues. We have established a local action group as part of Amnesty International. Amnesty International is a global initiative, fighting for human rights and social justice.
Living in a small south coast NSW town, we believe spreading awareness about global and community issues is imperative. We do not take a party political stance in our work, with our concerns being focussed on the upholding of human rights conventions and legislation.
Our latest event was a Public Forum on asylum seeker children held at Berry on 31 January 2015 which was attended by around 90 people. More information here.
